Care Instructions

Mecoz Label pieces are built to last. These care guidelines will help you honour that craftsmanship for years — and generations — to come.

Clothing & Knitwear

Fine fabrics reward attentive care. Follow these guidelines to preserve the integrity, colour, and hand of your Mecoz Label garments for decades.

Cashmere & Knitwear

  1. 1Hand wash in cool water (max 30°C) with a specialist cashmere detergent. Never use regular laundry liquid.
  2. 2Gently press water out — do not wring or twist.
  3. 3Lay flat on a clean towel to dry. Never hang cashmere — the weight of wet fibres will distort the shape permanently.
  4. 4Store folded, never on a hanger. Use cedar balls to deter moths. Air periodically.
  5. 5Pilling is natural on new cashmere. Use a cashmere comb (never a fabric shaver) to remove pills gently.

Silk & Satin

  1. 1Dry clean recommended for structured garments. Hand washing is acceptable for fluid pieces.
  2. 2If hand washing, use lukewarm water with a pH-neutral detergent. Rinse without wringing.
  3. 3Dry in shade away from direct sunlight, which will cause silk to yellow over time.
  4. 4Iron on the lowest silk setting, on the reverse of the fabric, while still slightly damp.
  5. 5Store in a breathable cotton garment bag, never plastic. Plastic traps moisture and causes yellowing.

Wool & Tailored Garments

  1. 1Always dry clean tailored blazers, suits, and structured outerwear. Do not attempt to wash at home.
  2. 2Brush the garment with a clothes brush after each wear to remove dust and surface debris.
  3. 3Hang on wide, shaped wooden hangers — never wire. The shoulder shape of a tailored garment is critical.
  4. 4Air the garment after each wear before returning to the wardrobe. Wool needs to breathe.
  5. 5Steam, never iron directly. A handheld steamer will remove creases without damaging the weave.

Linen & Cotton

  1. 1Machine wash on a delicate cycle at 30°C with a gentle detergent.
  2. 2Remove promptly from the machine and shake out to reduce creasing.
  3. 3Iron while slightly damp at the appropriate temperature setting.
  4. 4Linen will soften and improve with each wash — this is a feature, not a flaw.
